Some Legislators Spend A lot Of Our Money….On Themselves

In reviewing the Alaska Legislature 2015 Salary and Business Expense Report some startling numbers jumped out. A few legislators whose travel or relocation numbers dwarfed those of their colleagues prompted some of us curious minded peasants to ask what was normal, so we went back and reviewed the last five years of salary and business expense reports.

Our conclusion? There are some legislators that just don’t care. They spend our money with reckless abandon. They think they’re badasses, flying over here and over there, pocketing all the money we give them for office expenses, charging us more to relocate them than it would cost to just buy them a new car in Juneau. And they are crazy. They think they can bilk the good people of Alaska for it all and we won’t even notice.

That’s right, these legislators are the Honey Badgers and here are their awards.

Of course, Nome is one of the districts farthest away from Our Fair Capital City.

Yeah- but one spent $48,000, and another from the same area spent $8,000 to relocate.
