Anchorage Firefighter Union Launches Ad Offensive In Assembly Races

One Anchorage firefighter’s union is getting into the Anchorage municipal elections in a big way. The International Association of Firefighters – Local 1264 PAC has purchased $30,000 worth of ads on local radio stations to support assembly candidates Forrest Dunbar,  Eric Croft, and John Weddleton.IAFF

While the ads are all paid for by the by the same firefighter’s union PAC, each ad offers different reasons for endorsing the specified candidate. The ad supporting Forrest Dunbar references his uniformed service in the Alaska National Guard. The ad for Eric Croft focuses on his plan to fight spice usage. As for John Weddleton, the firefighters say it’s his local business experience and community involvement that won their support.

Sources tell the Midnight Sun the ads will begin running Monday morning and continue until election day.

Here are the ads:

Firefighters for Dunbar

Firefighters for Croft

Firefighters for Weddleton
