Politico — Sarah Palin was asked to speak at next week’s Republican National Convention, but apparently the roughly 3,000-mile flight is too long for the former governor of Alaska to make the trip to Cleveland.

“She was asked,” Donald Trump told the Washington Examiner in an interview Thursday. “It’s a little bit difficult because of where she is. We love Sarah. Little bit difficult because of, you know, it’s a long ways away.

Palin, who lives in Alaska, endorsed Trump for the Republican nomination in Des Moines ahead of the Iowa caucuses and has campaigned with him on several occasions across the country, including in Florida, Oklahoma and a little closer to home in California. Palin also traveled even farther, to New York City, where the two dined at a pizza joint in 2011.

  1. Well, actually, the main reasons she is not attending are:

    1. Trump’s family told him they don’t want her dimwitted hillbilly screeching while she parades around the platform in stiletto heels and a skin-tight leather dress; and,

    2. Her son Track was scheduled to go on trial on July 25 for beating the shit out of his girlfriend and threatening a cop with a loaded gun — yesterday, July 13, the judge remanded Track to custody — revoked his bail and locked him up.
