According to a posting on Alaska Libertarian Party candidate for U.S. Senate Cean Steven’s personal Facebook page this afternoon, she is dropping out of the race and 2010 Alaska Republican Party nominee for the same office Joe Miller is stepping in.
Joe Miller also posted a statement to his campaign page/personal blog:
This move completely upends a race that until now looked all but settled. Just last week The Midnight Sun posted new polling data showing Murkowski with a 40+ point lead over her raft of opponents.
State tuned to this page for updates throughout the day. We are expecting a statement from Murkowski’s campaign anytime.
