According to Mark Begich, Alaska’s former junior senator will be making a significant announcement about his future at 8 A.M. Thursday morning on Rick Rydell’s radio show on AM 650 KENI. Rydell confirmed as much on Facebook this afternoon:
The most obvious possibility is that Begich will make public whether or not he will run as a write-in candidate for Alaska’s U.S. Senate seat. The competition for that seat is already crowded with incumbent Republican Lisa Murkowski, “Democrat” Ray Metcalfe, newly minted Libertarian Joe Miller, and Independent Margaret Stock.
We have heard unconfirmed reports that Begich had a poll in the field over the weekend to help him decide. Those results are certainly back and made a go/no-go decision much easier for Begich.
We’ll have to tune in at 8 A.M. to find out what that decision is.
