Ok, so this isn’t an Alaska-based political story, but it is one any of you who have run for office or helped on a campaign will appreciate.
Alaska’s U.S. Congressional race has officially gotten going. Oh sure, technically both incumbent Rep. Don Young and Democrat challenger Steve Lindbeck have been in the race for months, but aside from the standard float of Young ads and a brief attack by Lindbeck in June over unionized tanker escorts there hasn’t been any noticeable communications activity in this race.

This afternoon on her daily radio show on 1020 FM KVNT Anchorage Assemblywoman Amy Demboski said Alaska Republican Party Vice-Chairman Rick Whitbeck called her last night and threatened her over her voicing support for Alaska Libertarian Party senatorial candidate Joe Miller over the Alaska Republican Party’s candidate Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
This is one of those stories that is crazy no matter which way it goes.
