RACE: Drawing Dunleavy

The art in these editorial cartoons might seem familiar. They’re by Juneau artist Pat Race, who also lent his talents to Alaska’s early voting stickers. After speaking with Race for our story about his smash-hit stickers, he sent us these editorial cartoons that he’s been working on.

“I know Mike Dunleavy is the tallest and we’re supposed to vote for whoever is tallest but I just can’t do it. His vacant policies are going to result in deep cuts to essential services and a resource giveaway to out-of-state corporations,” Race wrote in an Oct. 12 editorial published with the Juneau Empire.

Disclosure: Your humble editor occasionally co-hosts the podcast Hello Alaska with Race, and there’s a new episode of it out this week.

If you have any opinion pieces, letters to the editor or editorial cartoons and would like to see them published on the hallowed pages of The Midnight Sun, then contact editor Matt Buxton: [email protected] (don’t forget the ak).
