The 2017 Anchorage election isn’t entirely in the books. There’are a School Board race and several ballot propositions still in doubt, but for the most part, we now know how things turned out.
With that in mind, here are my thoughts on last night’s winners and losers.

The Anchorage School District and their teachers union, the Anchorage Education Association, have agreed on the parameters of a labor contract extension.
The West Anchorage Assembly race is still six months from being decided, but it’s already getting heated as the three way dynamic between solidly conservative Adam Trombley, proudly progressive Eric Croft, and decidedly non-partisan Ira Perman forces all three candidates to jockey to define both themselves and their opponents.
