To start things off we’re going to resurrect the Soapy Smith Awards, once given by our delightful forerunner The Alaska Ear in the old days of the Anchorage Daily News. As the Ear would describe it, “Soapy Smith Award — a citation for dubious achievement, named in honor of Skagway’s Gold Rush con man and all-around scoundrel.”
It is simply not fair to voters, the media, and most importantly registered Republicans, like me, to have any confusion about what is coming from the party and what is not. That clarity isn’t unreasonable to expect and shouldn’t be that hard for party leaders to provide.
One Republican isn’t running, one might run, the rest start the blame game. Its Friday in the Sun!!!!!
The Alaska Republican Party is moving to join Sen. Dan Sullivan and State Senator Mike Dunleavy in opposing Syrian refugees seeking assistance from the United States.
